About Dispatches from the Inside and Edge
Raw. Reflective. Relentlessly honest.
Dispatches from the Edge is a memoir-in-progress told in serialized chapters—one woman’s coming-of-age journey through girlhood, generational dysfunction, cultural pressure, and survival.
I’m Jennifer Tate, a mother, educator, and lifelong writer. After 25 years in California’s public school trenches and a lifetime of watching the world rewrite the rules for women and girls, I’m telling the truth as I lived it—unfiltered, unvarnished, and sometimes uncomfortably real.
This is not a self-help newsletter. It’s a record.
A reckoning.
A quiet rebellion.

Commentary: How culture shaped us—and how we’re shaping back.
If you’ve ever felt like you were on the outside looking in, if you’re questioning the roles you were assigned, or if you just want to read something brutally real—this is your place.
New chapters drop biweekly. Commentary and mini-dispatches come in between. Comments are open. Conversation is welcome. Truth is the north star.
